Makin Steps Performing Arts Covid -19 Measures to safeguard our pupils and staff
The responsibility that we have for the safety of our pupils, parents and staff has always been one of Makin’ steps core values. As we prepare to re-open following the COVID-19 lockdown, we will be introducing some new measures, procedures and protocols in line with government advice to reduce the risk associated with the virus. These are summarised below to show what actions we have taken, some of which are very apparent from the moment you arrive at Makin steps and some less so. Whilst we will do everything that is reasonably practical to protect our pupils, parents and staff, as is in the case with all safety matters, everyone has a certain responsibility for their own actions. We therefore respectfully ask that all pupils and parents adhere to the advice and procedures we have put in place to ensure everyones safety.
Before you arrive for class
All pupils must be registered for each class they attend. We have a strict limit of pupils per class to comply with the current UK Government social distancing guidelines.

We will be operating a no cash payment system and will not be taking payments at Makin’ Steps office. Therefore, please make sure all class fees are paid for in advance of your class
When you arrive for class
We are limiting access to the centre and no one accept pupils taking class will be permitted. Any pupils<br /> under 5yrs will be allowed one parents to remain at the centre during their class. We will request that parents remain in their vehicles where possible when dropping off/collecting.<br /> When collecting your children we ask that you continue to adhere to current social distancing.
New Social distancing measures
New measures have been put in place to assist pupils and staff with the compliance of social<br /> distancing requirements while at Makin’ Steps. These include, floor markings, information signs, limited class size and a new toilet entry system to help both staff and pupils distance themselves from others.
All classes will now be 10 minutes shorter. This will allow us to stagger class changeovers and also provide staff time to sanitise rooms ready for the next class. A new one way system will be used in order for pupils to leave, join or change classes.
New Entrance/Exits
To help with our one way system we have introduced new entrances & Exits. These are also the area where parents will need to wait to collect children.
